To recognise the need to conserve the Earth's finite resources as well as to conserve energy and not increase wherever possible a carbon footprint, Knockeen Hills will not supply any product in unnecessary packaging, such as cartons and tubes.
Knockeen Hills supports the policies of sensible drinking promoted by the Irish Government's Department of Health and Children, and those of Drink Aware.ie It also supports those aims of the Portman Group in the U.K. and in particular, challenging drinks companies to raise standards of alcohol marketing and to be socially responsible.
The producer of Knockeen Hills Triple and Quadruple-Distilled Irish Poteen encourages the consumption of alcohol in moderation. As part of this policy implemented at the commencement of the brand in 1996, it has as a producer, always declined to directly advertise its products in the media, or use the medium of 'advertorials' and remains committed to these policies. We trust that by incorporating within our labels, details of some of our awards won at the International Wine and Spirit Competitions this will reassure consumers of the premium quality of our range of products.
Knockeen Hills is the winner of twelve medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, including Ireland's only spirit GOLD MEDAL awarded in 2003, together with four SILVER MEDALS 'Best in Class' in 2006, one in 2007, and one in 2008.
All six poteens in the range have been awarded a minimum of a SILVER MEDAL (Best in Class). It is the only Irish Poteen in production to win any medals at the I.W.S.C. and is currently exported to 15 countries.
