Over 70 gallons of illicit poitín were seized by the Gardaí over the Easter weekend - about £15,000 worth of the cratur was found in an illegal distillery just outside Buncrana.

The Gardaí also made another interesting discovery - the bodies of two decomposing rats in a vat of distillate.

I always wondered what gave the oul' poitín that added zest.
